Help with Sydium for Chrome

The extension keeps what you read as content ideas. Select text or right-click a page, and it is saved to Ideas in your Sydium workspace at once.

What it does

  • Select text on any page, right-click, and choose Save to Sydium. To save a whole page, right-click anywhere else on it.
  • It is saved to Ideas straight away. The first time in a browser session, the side panel opens to show it; after that, the Sydium icon shows a check.
  • The side panel lists what you saved recently, on every computer you sign in from. Edit or delete an idea there, or open it in Sydium.

What you need

A Sydium account with an active plan. If you are already signed in to Sydium in the same browser, connecting the extension takes one click.

Signing in

  1. Click the Sydium icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the side panel.
  2. Press Sign in with Sydium.
  3. Choose the workspace to save ideas into, and approve the access request.

A workspace without an active plan cannot be connected. Pick another workspace, or ask its owner to renew the plan.

If something is not working

Couldn't save that clip.
Sydium could not be reached. Check your connection, then press Try again in the panel. The clip is kept until you do.
The workspace doesn't have an active plan.
A workspace owner can renew it in the billing settings. Ideas you already saved stay where they are.
Your role can't save ideas.
Your role in that workspace can view but not create. Ask a workspace owner for editor access.
Sign-in didn't finish.
The sign-in window was closed or could not load. Press Try again, and make sure pop-ups from Sydium are allowed.

What the extension sends

Nothing, until you choose a Sydium menu item. Then it sends the text you selected, or the address and title of the page, to your Sydium workspace. It does not read pages on its own, and it does not track your browsing.

Disconnecting or removing it

Sign out in the side panel to end the extension's access to your account. To remove it from Chrome, open the extensions page and choose Remove. Removing it does not delete ideas you already saved.
